A great day was had yesterday at the races but the heat took it's toll and I ended up drinking far too much to quench my thirst;-).
I do have a really really sore throat but a few of us have gotten a cold since Benidorm, I blame the flight myself. Well this week it's back to the gym.
Have to go as the little fella is shouting me...he has just had a choccy bikkie....I think I have a clean up job on my hands...

You are my sunshine!!
Yes after an extended 3 night away with the girls in Benidorm; Thanks to the Ash cloud, I truely believe I have brought the sunshine back with me. It is glorious out there. But to be honest I am not great with heat after all I am or look of Viking descent and the sun certainly doesn't do my body any favours except lift my mood greatly.
I should have gone to the Northern Soul night at Stubby Labour Club but I don't think my husband would be happy after nearly a week away then another night out with the girls...lol. I will be at the next one strutting my stuff.
People are still wishing I had got elected and saying they voted for me which is brilliant, I am so grateful for that.
See you soon folks.

Monday 10 May
The sun is still out in Ashton and lets hope it stays until October.
I just thought I would let you all know that Paul Tushingham will also be participating in this blog as well as myself and I will be editor.
It won't always be politically focused as we will have the World Cup on us soon and for those who don't know I am a massive football fan. Role on June:-).
I took my youngest (14 months) for his first 'official' pair of shoes and he is a massive size 6!!!

The aftermath
Firstly a BIG Thanks to everyone who voted for me in the local elections. Also a huge thanks to all those who helped with my campaign, especially my husband Ian and kids Bethany and Kurtis, baby Owen had to be looked after by Nanna so a big thanks to her to. Also Thanks to the fabulous Paul Tushingham, Ros Bradley (M-i-L), Jean and Steve, Katrina, Ray Davis (the one and only), Freda Davis, Joanne and Paul Williams and everybody who put a poster up for me. Please accept my heartfelt thanks.
The result was very close with Labour winning by a small margin of only 228 votes.
Labour 2208, CAP 1980.
I truely believe that if the general elections were not on the same day the result would be very different. But onwards and upwards.
I will still continue to badger the council to do the right thing for Ashton, even though other parties claim credit I was doing these things before I joined a party. I don't want plaudits and recognition, I want a great place to live...end of.
The campaigning was difficult as I didn't realise some opposition were so low as to post slur letters about myself and colleagues. However I am not about that and won't stoop to that level.
Oh I also heard someone in the opposition say I was too young for politics....is it only for the retired??...lol.
